A JW explains Blood Fractions
by OrphanCrow ini was looking around from some information on the wt's stance concerning the use of stem cells, and i came across this article on a defending jehovah's witnesses blog.. rather than informing the reader all that much about stem cells, the author diverts the conversation into a discussion of "blood fractions" (*note: the term "blood fractions" appears to be another one of those wt bloodspeak terms coined by the wt.
"blood components" or "blood products" are the terms used more frequently by the medical world.
"fractions" implies tiny amounts).

Definitely check out the larger resort properties. The scale alone is staggering. Save a little time for people watching on the strip - very entertaining. Gambling eh, can do that in lots of placed now, so not a big deal. If you like Poker, check out the card room at the Bellagio, and the Venetian. The big draw for my wife and I is the world class entertainment. Check out who is in town during your visit. If you like comedy, there is plenty of that, as well as magic. We laughed so hard at Zumanity (NYNY) we cried. Same thing at Absinthe (Caesars).

Is this the end of blood donation? Scientists close to unlimited supply from stem cells
by TTaTT4U inhttp://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/2017/05/17/end-blood-donationscientists-close-unlimited-supply-stem-cells/.
sarah knapton, science editor .
17 may 2017 • 6:00pmblood donors may no longer be needed in the future after scientists showed it was possible to create blood from stem cells.. the 20 year project could pave the way for an unlimited number of blood and immune cells for transplants, simply by reprogramming a patient’s own skin cells.. the research, reported in the journal nature, holds out enormous promise for developing personalised treatments for blood disorders, drug-screening and reducing shortages of donated blood.. dr ryohichi sugimura, of boston children's hospital, said: "this gives us the potential to have a limitless supply of blood stem cells and blood by taking cells from universal donors.

Wonderful news for humanity. Would require some "new light" from the Watchtower to be acceptable to JWs. Much needed "new light".

These points are well taken. Bear in mind, however, that physicians are not generally inclined to take unsolicited medical advice from a religious publishing corporation to begin with, particularly when there is no double blind study to confirm it is a best practice. Additionally, it would be a mistake to assume that every pregnant JW woman is getting HLC advance, because that is not happening, and neither do we want it to as it could interfere with free and informed choice. These situations are unpredictable, and typically extremely urgent. The study is important enough for WT to make a special effort to bring it to the attention of all obstetricians if possible, to update their materials to include it, and perhaps have an article available to the general JW population.

It appears to have the potential to reduce mortality by 20%-30% in the general population who have access to the safety net of red cell transfusion. The benefit to JW mothers will be less, but now there is strong evidence to support its early use at the first sign of bleeding.

I am a faith practicing Deist/Agnostic with Buddhist leanings. If I had to chose one? How about kindness, or maybe love. Those would both be excellent on their own.
